Vangelis - Memories of Green
Vangelis is my man. The most influential synth pioneer by all means at least for me and his work on Blade Runner is just amazing, a huge influence on the ambient bits on "Sun Sky a Floating".
Brian Wilson - Surf's Up
This is simply breathtaking. A man who had spent 40 years in bed with the demons that were called the SMiLE, here in this very performance beating all those demons for the very first time, and how! This entire SMiLE performance is eyewateringly beautiful and pure perfection as a whole but Surf's Up is definitely a somewhat culmination of all those years. Just look at the crowd's reaction in the end! Just, wow. This performance has been a huge influence on "Sun Sky a Floating".
Michael Jackson - Ghost (Full Version)
They broadcasted this fully on MTV over and over again, and I used to watch, over and over again, mesmerized about the production values and the vastness of the whole thing. The foot thumbs and whatnot have been a huge influence on the thumbing beat in Ghostly Shores, which is actually a big pile of basketballs on a gym.
