3 WAYS CHORD ROOTS MOVE

By 5th
EX- C to G, Gb/F#, F

If the Roots move by 5ths you CHANGE your voicing type from 3rd based to 7th based or
7th based to 3rd based

By 2nd
EX- C to Bb, B, D, Db

If the Roots move in 2nds you keep the same voicing type

By 3rds
EX- C to A, Ab, E, Eb

​If Roots move by 3rds you'll have to choose which form works best AND keeps your voicings from getting too low
