I VI II V I (Triad) (discussed the close relation of I VI IV V (2nd most used) to this, and how they can be used back to back)
IMaj7 VIm7 IIm7 V7 IMaj7 (7th)
Work through smoothest inversions starting on Root & 2nd inversion
RH chords and LH Single Bass
Also discussed that chords with at least 2 notes in common can be substituted for each other.
VI and III for I
II and IV for each other
EXAMPLE- PRACTICAL USE- BLUE MOON
I VI IV V
I VI II V
III VI II V
Split Hand Chords
2 forms
RH 3/7 or 7/3
Maj7, Dom7, Min7
Play; Circle of 5ths, Chromatically

C D E Gb Ab Bb B A G F Eb Db
NEW OPTION- switch the voicing on each chord. On Dominant this makes it move down chromatically
NOW, WE MAKE IT MINOR (Min9th to be specific)
Add a Bass note- 6th above the root OR Minor 3rd below the root- Under CMaj7 play A, Under FMaj7 play D
RH- Major 7th LH- Bass a Minor 3rd below and LOW
KEEP CHORDS STARTING AROUND, OR BELOW, MIDDLE. BASS NOTES AN OCTAVE OR MORE DOWN
Low LH Bass note then Root Position arpeggio then chord
Low LH Bass note then 1st inversion arpeggio then chord
Low LH Bass note then 2nd inversion arpeggio then chord
Low LH Bass note then 3rd inversion arpeggio then chord
NEXT MINOR 7th chords (makes Maj9th)
Exact same routine BUT when you get to the Bass notes it's a Major 3rd below the root of the chord
Under Cmin7 play an Ab Bass, under Fmin7 play a Db bass, Under Gmin7 play a Eb Bass
Walking In The Air/George Winston- Snow
Snow- 4 chords are Ami x2 G Emi
Play LH pattern alone a few times until you're not thinking about it
then
RH plays
- 1 3 5 chord for each
- 1 2 3 4 5 5 (w/F# as needed)
- descending 3 2 1 down to 5 or 5/3 (the same 3 you started on)
develop some of your own patterns
this will help you be more independent playing his melody and improvising on this
Walking in the Air- Incorporate LH patterns
LH EXERCISE- Minor
Add in RH Triads; Root, 1st inversion, 2nd inversion, Root (up an octave)
1 5 9 b3 9 5
1 5 8 9 b3 9 8 5
1 5 8/b3 8/b3 1 5 8/b3 8/b3

RH plays the same scale BUT from the 3rd to the 3rd. This will throw off your regular fingerings
iReal Practice II-V-I in 12 keys
